Kia Ora, this week Emma come back to our class to see how we have been doing with our S.L.J practice. This time we got to choose a slideshow and Google drawing I am doing a slideshow. Kia ora and welcome back to another Summer Learning Journey blog post.  Today we have had to watch a T.V. series of the country we are planning to go to. I really like doing Australia because it is a interesting country to me.

The name of the T.V. series is called The voice. It is about people that go on stage and perform a song that they have practiced. The judges have to push a button to turn around and see who is singing it.
I rate it 5 out of 5.

First time swimming at school

Swimming at school

This year we have been learning how to swim at school. It was my first time going swimming at school this year.

 I've been swimming a lot at school but this is my first time this year anyway lets talk about what we have to do before we get to go into the pool.

 First we have to get our togs out of your bag or off the hook, secondly you have to remember your togs, thirdly go in the changing room and get change into your togs. 

Now what I have been learning with my instructor, we learnt to bubble and breathe at the same time underwater that is called freestyle and backstroke.

My favourite swimming style is freestyle because  you can swim faster when you are in a race.

This term the whole school have been going swimming at Canterbury swim school. we did not go at the same time we went in our class's. We are the first class to go swimming and it is really fun. when we get we need to take our shoes and sock off and line up until the teacher tells us that we can go into the changing rooms. I couldn't find a picture of me swimming yet but I will try and find one.

We have swimming teachers to tell us what to do in the pool. The lessons that we do is backstroke, Freestyle and tumble turns. These were all really fun to do. My swimming teacher is called Sam. he is a really good teacher at swimming time.

The pool that I am in is the deep pool. The deep pool isn't that deep but it would be for little kids. I really enjoy swimming in the deep pool because it gives me the confidence to not touch the floor when I am doing freestyle.

The people that are in my group are Jared,Bailey,Evelyn,Jessica,Mckenzie,Hannah and Susie. WE swim all the way to the end and back. We uasully do 4 lengths of then pool and come back after woods.

Kia Ora  viewers today I will like to have some feedback about one of my evidence paragraphs as I said I would like some feedback about it in the comments. This is for my class's topic, we are learning about the body here is my writing.

Firstly, the Digestive system is greatest system because without it you would not be able to get the nutrients and energy out of the food you eat. If you Don't have the nutrients you origins will not be able to work and you wounded be able to get the nutrients.

My amazing Body #2

W.A.L.T explain what different body system are and how they work.

kia ora, this week we have been learning about four different body parts. They are Digestive system, Nervous system, Muscular system and The Respiratory System. The Digestive system it's job is to get the nutrient out of the food you eat. The Nervous system sends messages to your brain, your Muscular system help you to move and they are connected to some of your bones. The last and final one the Respiratory system The Respiratory system helps you to breathe in and out. when you are eating your trachea will close up so you don't chock on your food.

My Amazing body

This term my class has been learning about the human body. There are two groups one was with Miss D and the other one was with Mrs Mclachlan. The first group that I was in was Miss D's for Miss D's we were doing Endocrine System, Circulatory System and the Skeletal System it was so fun because we done experiments and a lot more. Then we switched groups now I am in Miss Mclachlan's we are learning about the brain, The Digestive System, The Muscular system and The Respiratory System for the brain we are making a paper brain and we have been doing experiments too and we have done a google drawing about the body hope you enjoy.

My Holiday writing

My Holiday writing

Kia ora, welcome back to my blog and today I am going to share some of my writing with you. My goal was to improve my orientation by using our senses. I hope you enjoy. 

On the first day of the holidays after school I was ready to go home  but I was waiting for the bell to ring. Suddenly the bell ring the teachers were still taking said good afternoon  I went to my Aunt's house for a my cousins birthday it was fairies and mermaids but I did not have to dress up it was so fun we had unicorn

cupcakes, mermaid cake, jelly, popcorn, fruit and donuts.

Genius Hour

Genius Hour

This week we have been doing Genius Hour, and it is our 6th week doing Genius Hour and the teachers said if we stay in our group for 5 weeks we can change our group if we want to. If you we had finished our work that we were doing. Bailey and I and some anther students in Ako Ngathi did not change. We stayed in drawing because we were having so much fun drawing and we did not what to leave. If you don't now about Genius Hour it is when you are in a group. We had some things that we could do Drawing, Lego stop motion, Lego construction, Scratch Coding, construction and Sewing. I have all ready told you that I am doing drawing. I Love to draw so that is why I went in draw. We can Sketch some lines and we can do some of squiggles. We can do charcoal. If you don't know what Charcoal is it is a very messy crayon and it is really thin and it can break easily and when you use it makes your hands black.

My group have been learning how to do set's to 10. Sets of ten is when 2 numbers make 10 for example 6 + 4 = 10. In this slide I am showing how to make sets to 10.

It was really fun making and doing this slide show.

last week group 1 in Ako Ngatahi, went on a new website called code.org it is about coding. We played some games and watched some video. Coding is when you have a computer or I-pad you have to write the instructions to move forward, turn left and turn right.

This year my group the Brain Boxes are making a D.L.O, slide show or a Thing-link.com I have done two things I have done a thing-link and a D.L.O but this post is about my D.L.O. we have read a book about a dolphin called opo in a place called opononi and the book that we were reading was called my opo summer by Adrienne Fater. We had to find facts about bottlenose dolphins ti was really fun making this D.L.O and finding facts so now I have something to share with you.

My awesome Learning Goals

My Goals

Kia Ora my name is Aroha and today I will be showing you my learning goals, my awesome learning goals. 

We have shared our learning goals with our Mum or Dad. I shared mine with my Mum she was proud of me when she sew it so were the teachers. They even told me to show my mum the book that we got the idea of setting goals from. Do you think I could stop talking, know. I have a lot more but I am just going to stop because you would what to see my goals.

Our crazy magician Elgregeo

I am writing my very first blog post of the year. We went to go see Elgregeo our crazy magician. 

He has a new assistant called Ben. He is the new helper for Mr Elgregeo. To be honest he was doing a really good job for his first time. He was very helpful for Mr Elgregeo handing Elgrego his magic props, talking to him and giving the prizes out to the people that went on stage. Well it was't really a stage it was just on the grand in the new hall. 

Elgrego had lot's of birds. There were parrots, African makow, a pigeon and popcorn who is his new bird. Popcorn came out of a balloon that popped. Popcorn is just a baby. He is yellow and he is so cute. Some of the parrots where red, blue and whit. 

Okay know I am going to talk about the magic. When he was getting the birds he was making them aber on his hand. On his last one it was his greatest one in the inter show.  It was the Revision. A Revision is when same people can put there head thouger something. 

It was so so cool you have probably all ready seen him and all his tricks. Elgrego is a very magical magician.
